Good Morning from San Francisco! Today we received in our inboxes the latest edition of The National Association of Home Builders’ Sales + Marketing Idea Magazine which, coincidentally, contains a very enlightening article about technology solutions in the real estate space, written by our very own VP of Marketing and PR, Robert O’Shaughnessy.

Ah, the glory of the Social Web, that brings us all together in a peaceful and open forum for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, skills, and of course … a love of Star Wars. This project, Star Wars Uncut, is a great representation of the Light Side (puns thoroughly intended) that we hope all this instant non stop texter-tweeter-status-update-viral-friending-liking-en-massery that is the Social Web, will produce.
The project cuts the movie into 15 second segments, the users then choose a segment, and then reproduce on their own. After that fans voted on their favorite of each segment, and then best made it into the final cut.
Again, a brilliant example of getting people involved and producing something together… oh and awesome video clips of grown adults wearing paper hats as well.

I got my invite to Google App Inventor BETA today, and I have to say this looks like a lot of fun. Everything is drag and drop – it’s feels kind of like Dreamweaver for App Dev Dummies. I’m going to play around with it and see what comes to fruition! More excellent open-source transparent internet goodness from the Googles!

A question for you home builder marketing pros: one intrepid marketer recently told me he loves New Home Feed, but was surprised that he had not heard of it. He said our biggest mistake was that a guy like him could have missed the amazing opportunity that is New Home Feed. So my question for him – and my question for you – is: if we want the core value proposition of New Home Feed to get in front of eyeballs like yours, where should New Home Feed appear? Any publications or websites or blogs or events you would recommend? Please let me know. Leave your thoughts in comments, or email me at roshaughnessy (at) newhomfeed.com

With what seems like a multilevel guerrilla attack against the seemingly unchallenged technologies offered by Google over the last 5 years, Microsoft unveils its answer to StreetView, cleverly named “Street Slide”. I must admit, the Bing wasn’t so impressive, but this is pretty amazing. Score one for the BalmyBalmer!
