How up to date are you? #realestate

The folks over at Hydundai have released this great commercial about technology over the ages, coupled with the great tagline,

“What if we always settled for the first thing that came along?”

This speaks volumes for the online world of real estate. This isn’t to discount the old ways, but we must take the lessons from the past and then build on them to be prepared for everything.

Free Pizza

Pretty cool. Papa John’s is giving away free pizza to folks who register for their loyalty program. IF the game goes into overtime.

As the web matures (if the web can be said to be maturing?) the game for marketers becomes getting names. Email addresses. Folks who opt-in to receive your message. And so Papa John’s gambles that even if they have to give away all these pizzas, the rewards – thousands of people electing to receive direct marketing messages – are huge. (And plus: this campaign gets people like me writing about it and people like you to read it. Big bonus.)

And the question for many of our readers here is: how do we apply the creativity of campaigns like this one to the real estate industry? Let us know if you come up with something.

Year of the Rabbit – 2011

Happy New Year! Hope everyone’s holidays were fantastic! And now that you’re rested, re-energized, and ready to rock in 2011, let’s see what the stars have in store for us this – the Year of the Rabbit – 2011.

According to Chinese tradition, the Rabbit brings a year in which you can catch your breath and calm your nerves.  It is a time for negotiation.  Don’t try to force issues, because if you do you will ultimately fail.  To gain the greatest benefits from this time, focus on home, family, security, diplomacy, and your relationships with women and children.   Make it a goal to create a safe, peaceful lifestyle, so you will be able to calmly deal with any problem that may arise.

Kudos to Builder Web Apps

This is pretty cool, and much needed. A new solution for builders called Builder Web Apps lets builders use the Facebook page to post really comprehensive community listings including photos and video, plus make instant edits to the listings. So now the builder Facebook page will have a tab that functions much like a listing site plus helps builders accomplish a key goal: bringing prospects into the net that is the builder website. Cooler still: getting started is free. And even cooler than that? Very soon this solution will be fully integrated with New Home Feed. The New Home Feed team likes to toast innovation and understands the joys and pains of bringing something cutting-edge to market and so we lift our glass to the very clever team behind Builderwebapps.com.

Oh. And here is a demo that does a nice job of summarizing the benefits of this new tool.
