Context is King

As our friend Jereme likes to say, “Context is King – Say it over and over to yourself and you feel smarter.”

TechCrunch has a great article today on online video. Guess what? It’s important. Guess what else? User-generated video rules. You don’t have to run out and hire Spielberg to shoot your video. Get out there, do it, and people will come. As today’s article makes clear, “Ultimately, overall consumption of media will increase but hits become less frequent and each hit will become more niche.” We keep saying this (are you listening???) but the web is fragmenting, media is fragmenting, so consumers must be reached at the moment their eyes (and mouse) rest still for a second while they take something in. And that something – its every more frequently going to be video.

As the article illustrates, the attitude of the average web surfer is, “If something is important, it will find me.” So quit stilling folks and get found!
